Cygnets provide a range of children's dance classes from our studio in central Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, as well as private lessons, Baby Ballet and Adult Ballet classes. Private ballet lessons are also available from Great Dunmow, Essex and the surrounding areas.
Exams- We study the NATD curriculum and aim to take exams every term. If you would like you child to participate in grade exams we stronly reccomend that they attend both Wednesday and Saturday lessons.
We specialise in providing expert Russian style ballet tuition at levels from nursery to advanced. We teach the NATD Russian style ballet curriculum and whilst most students participate in the grade examinations this is not compulsory. The age ranges below are approximate and to encourage the best development we will place your child into the most suitable class for thier ability and prior experience. Parents should also be aware that there is no direct mapping between RAD and NATD which have 8 and 4 grades respectively. Our current classes and approximate age ranges are:

Fees for group classes are £8.00 per lesson and must be paid strictly in advance for the forthcoming term
Private ballet tuition can be provided at all levels, whether rehearsing for grade exams or ballet company auditions, or just perfecting your technique. Private lessons are nomally priced from £40 per hour and can be provided at a variety of locations in Suffolk and Essex, including your own home.
Adult ballet classes are great for beginners or past students looking to rekindle a love of ballet, or those simply looking for a fun muscle-toning exercise. We have pupils of all abilities from ages 20 to 70!
No tutu or prior experience of ballet is required, although you will need a moderate level of fitness and flexibility.
Classes are £8.00 for a 1 hour lesson - pay per lesson not per term.
Nursey Play Dance is the ideal way to introduce your child to ballet and dance. Aimed at ages of two to five years old, these classes provide a gentle and unintimdating environment to discover ballet. Many of our students started with us in baby ballet at the age of four and have progressed through to performing arts schools or even national ballet academies.
Classes are £8.00 for 30 minutes
